November 1989--CHEERS--"Two Girls for Every Boyd"--Frasier tells Sam that his father was a research scientist who passed way. Arriving at the airport they ran into Cheer's resident know-it-all Cliff Clavin waiting for his mother to fly in. While there, Daphne becomes very friendly with a bargoer in Cheers (not anyone from the show). April 1990--THE EARTH DAY SPECIAL--This is crossover gold, and most people don't remember it. Actually, as seen on FRASIER, he was a very much alive cop. If anything 'Frasier' was a better show than 'Cheers' in the first seven years. Seething with jealousy and depression, Niles starts spending a lot of time at the bar. Cheers and Frasier Edit "Frasier" was a spin-off from Cheers, and a very successful and critically-acclaimed show. The biggest crossover in terms of the sheer volume of characters happened in 2002 when Frasier and his family headed to Boston for Frasier to receive an award and ran into five characters from Cheers. Frasier, Niles, Martin, and Daphne head to Boston to visit Lilith and Frederick. And for the first seven seasons of the show it didn't need to parachute former 'Cheers' cast members in too often because everything was going well. It aired for eleven seasons on NBC. Grammer has been Emmy-nominated for playing Frasier Crane on Cheers and Frasier, as well as a 1992 crossover appearance on Wings, making him the only performer to be nominated for playing the same role on three different shows. Kelsey Grammer reprised the role of Frasier, now living in Seattle and hosting a radio call-in show. Frasier had always acknowledged the show it was spun off from but prided itself on standing alone.
It was shot on the same set as Cheers, and was created by Cheers alums David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee.
