KAZANJIAN RED DIAMOND: The Kazanjian Red diamond is the second largest Red diamond in the world weighing 5.05 carats and has an emerald cut. Earlier it was known as the Red Diamond. The gem was discovered in the 1920s in Lichtenburg, South Africa and was seized by the Nazis during the Second World War. Its rarity makes putting a value on it a challenge.
Kazanjian worked in the 1970's with the inventor of the radiant-cut, Henry Grossbart providing stones as he worked on the cut. The Kazanjian Red Diamond is now the centerpiece of The Kazanjian Foundation, which has been helping charities since 1957, through the display and sale of private jewelry collections.

One of the rarest gemstones in the world, a red diamond, is now on display at the American Museum of Natural History. The stone was sold several times in the following years until in 2007, a customer of the Kazanjian Brothers, Beverly Hills jewellers, showed them the diamond. This stone belongs to an extremely small – and select – group of diamonds.
They bought it and named it the Kazanjian Red Diamond.
