In fact, many shelters do not realize a dog is deaf or blind, because the dog copes so well with their surroundings. She is crate trained and is fine when left alone. I’m a four-year old beauty that is often overlooked because I am a Pit Bull-Terrier mix. Red Hook Dog Rescue focuses on saving special needs dogs from the kill shelters of NYC, not because of what we can do for them, but because what they teach us. Since its inception, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC has saved over 5,500 dogs.
Working with our communities we find homes for adoptable animals, facilitate Trap-Neuter-Release programs, perform community outreach and education. As a foster-based rescue, we focus on providing all of our dogs with secure and caring environments while they wait for their forever families.
Our goal is to save abused & at risk dogs from kill shelters & provide vetting & loving homes. She’s a beautiful girl too and gets compliments everywhere she goes! Since opening our doors in 1987, we have been able to provide care to animals through dedicated volunteers, our pet supply business, and private donations. ♥ ۬ We want to introduce these animals to the public and educate people that unwanted companion animals are not damaged goods or unworthy, but really can be great family pets. Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill, privately run animal shelter located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She was saved from the shelter on her last day and has been so thankful ever since… She is much like a puppy, very loving, adores people.
